Clicking
A heavy brass knife cuts flawlessly through a whole hide, mapped in advance to avoid every natural flaw.
Closing
An antique sewing machine, older than most of our artisans, stitches the uppers with a tension no modern machine replicates.
Lasting
Leather is pulled tight over a wooden form with specialized pincers, coaxed into the exact silhouette of the last.
Welting
A thick needle pierces the heavy leather welt, locking sole to upper in a seam built to be resoled indefinitely.
Master Artisan Spotlight
Ka Ramon Villanueva, 58 Years at the Bench
He still examines every silhouette against the window light before a single stitch, pencil tucked behind his ear the same way it has been since 1968. He has trained eleven apprentices; four still work beside him today.
The Goodyear Welt
A shoe that can be completely resoled, again and again, is a shoe built to be worn for a lifetime — not replaced every season.
